One month after getting engaged, or at least going through a proposal on zoom, Too Hot To Handle couple, Francesca Farago (26) and Harry Jowsey (22) are calling it quits.
Francesca, who met Harry on the Netflix series Too Hot to Handle, where sex crazed young adults had to spend their time together on a tropical island trying NOT to have sexual contact with each other, hit if off with the 22-year-old right off the bat and had the most trouble refraining from sex. However, in the end, the couple grew close together and ended up in a real relationship, which is the goal of the show.
Their on again, off again relationship was followed on social media and in talk show interviews. Francesca used Youtube to announce the couple’s breakup to their fans.
“Harry and I are not together anymore,” she said in the video. She also revealed that it was Harry’s decision to end the relationship.
“He decided to break up with me because he couldn’t do long distance anymore. (Francesca lives in Vancouver, Canada, while Harry resides in Los Angeles, California). I obviously was heartbroken. I did everything I could,” she said. ” I was trying to work it out with him and it didn’t happen. I was like, ‘ok if this is what you want then let’s announce to everyone.’ He said he didn’t want to do that yet because there were rumors and accusations being brought up from people, so he didn’t want to validate those things by releasing that we were going to take a break.”
Francesca went on to say that she believed that this relationship would end in marriage.
“I genuinely thought that no matter what we were going to end up together. I thought we were going to get married,” she added.
After meeting on Too Hot To Handle, the couple got engaged on a zoom interview when Harry popped the question with a candy Ring Pop.
“Can do you do it over Zoom? Well, we may as well,” Harry said as he pulled out a Ring Pop candy ring. “I just want to say you’ve absolutely changed my life, I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend forever with you. Do you want to do this thing? Do you want to get married?”
“Harry knows I want to marry him, so yes,” she responded. But later Francesca said during an interview with Variety, that the couple was not in fact engaged.
“Everyone’s been like, are you engaged… Like I asked him, ‘Are we engaged?’ And he’s like, ‘I asked you to marry me.’ So I don’t know, like, I think it definitely just needs to be done in person— like a proper proposal. So as of right now, no, we’re not engaged for everyone who’s been asking.” Francesca told Variety. “I mean, we kind of are but I don’t know, how do you really decide that via Zoom call, you know?” Farago continued. “It’s hard to say.”
Francesca concluded her video saying, “there’s a lot more to the story. I just can’t emotionally put myself through this anymore so, I’m really sorry guys.”
We wish the couple well going forward.
