While his “This Is Us” character Kevin lives a life of heartbreak and addiction, Justin Hartley’s real life is much more heartwarming. In fact, the love story he currently finds himself in is a beautiful one.

Hartley actually married his wife Chrishell Stause in October of 2017 after meeting at a concert. And yes, they both say they instinctively knew that they were meant for one another soon after they met in 2013. Their wedding was attended by many of his “This is Us” castmates such as Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, and Chrissy Metz.

The story of Hartley finding true love is that much sweeter considering that he found the love after his divorce from Lindsay Hartley (nee Korman) in 2012 after eight years of marriage.

Unfortunately, Hartley’s “This is Us” character lives a much more rambunctious life. In a new interview before Monday night’s (Sept. 17) Emmy Awards, Hartley reflected on what just might happen to his character Kevin in season three of the much-loved show.

“He’s in remission but he’s barely there,” Hartley says. “I think he’s got one foot in the door, but the other one’s on a banana peel, maybe.”

He even seemed to conjure up the possibility that Kevin might never be able to recover from his addictions on the show. “Because on our show you never know, you might not live,” he acknowledged, admitting that he was worried about the possibility of Kevin dying. “I’m going to tell you the truth, I mean, ‘worry’ is a strong word. I don’t worry about it but I do think about it when people bring it up. [Kevin] was on very thin ice there last season so we’ll see what happens.”
