Serving as a fill-in host on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” television star Mario Lopez decided to truly stir things up with a blast from his past, inviting “Saved by the Bell” castmate Tiffani Thiessen to join him on Thursday’s (Aug. 30) talk show.
“Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m that old,” the 44-year-old Lopez says on the show. “I thought it was 20 years but it’s been 30 years since Saved by the Bell!”
“We are old, we are really old,” agrees Thiessen, who is also 44-years-old.
Of course, the years certainly look to have been a friend to these two, with both remaining quite active in the entertainment industry. In fact, Thiessen was on the show to also promote her very first cookbook “Pull Up a Chair: Recipes from My Family to Yours.”
And while the two look to be quite happy with their individual careers, they also have lucked out in the family department. In fact, both talked about how their own kids have actually checked out old episodes of “Saved by The Bell.”
“Harper started watching it a tiny, tiny bit,” Thiessen says about her daughter. “I was okay with season one but after that kissing started happening and I was like, ‘No, no, no we’re done.’ She’s 8.”
However, it sounds as if Lopez’s kids, Dominic and Gia, may not be fans of the addictive show quite yet.
“My kids have given it a shot and [they’re] not feeling it,” he says. In fact, the Extra host’s children have asked him: “Daddy why is your hair like that?”
