Fans of the 90s sitcom Saved By The Bell are in for a treat. The show’s stars Mark Paul Gosselaar and Mario Lopez reunited 30 years after the show’s premiere, on the set of Extra.
Saved By The Bell ran for five seasons from 1989-1993. Mark Paul played the role ofZack Morris and Mario played his best friend A.C. Slater. The two remained friends following the show and continued working in the business.
The two pals reunited on screen because Mark Paul has a new show, the Fox series “The Passage” and he stopped by Extra to talk all about the series. Mario is host of the celebrity news program. The interview seemed more like we were eavesdropping on two friends catching up as they talked about their kids, families and reminisced about Saved By The Bell days.
“We would have had a hard time with social,” Mark Paul said. “We had fun. We had fun and we were kids and I think that’s why we sustained that sort of innocence. People liked watching that on the show because we weren’t aware of what we were doing really.”
While many of us were fans of the High School series and the one spin-off series: Saved by the Bell: The College Years , their children are not. Mark Paul has four children and Mario and his wife are expecting their third.
“My kids watch. They are not impressed. But they’re not impressed at anything,” Mark Paul said. “Everything’s, ‘meh.’ They’re teenagers and everything is just kind of meh.”
Following the interview, Mark Paul took to Instagram to share photos of the two friends then and now. While he was at it, he took on social media’s 10 year challenge craze by challenging it.
It’s good to see Zack and A.C. together again. Now all we need are Kelly, Lisa and Jessie to join them.
