After losing her father, Senator John McCain from brain cancer, earlier this month, Meghan has taken time off from her stint on “The View” to mourn his death and spend time with family.

The 33-year-old talk show host has announced her return via social media.

“I will be getting back on the horse @theviewabc Monday, October 8th. Thank you all for your patience and understanding ~ “It’s not about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward,”” she wrote in her post.

Along with her announcement, Meghan shared an animated drawing of herself in a boxing ring, putting on boxing gloves that are inscribed with the word “Dad.” Meghan is not one to back down from a fight. She appears to be gearing up for what’s next.

During her father’s funeral, Meghan gave a fiery and emotional eulogy, sharing the great love she had for the man who taught her everything.

“The best of John McCain, the greatest of his titles and the most important of his roles was as a father,” she said. “I know who he was. I know what defined him. I got to see it every single day of my blessed life. John McCain was not defined by prison, by the Navy, by the Senate, by the Republican party or by any single one of deeds of his absolutely extraordinary life. John McCain was defined by love.”

“The View” began it’s new season on Sept. 4, without Meghan. Abby Huntsman joined the cast as a replacement for Sarah Haines, who left to host “GMA Day” with Michael Strahan. Meghan will return Oct. 8.
