Shortly after the finale of “America’s Got Talent,” fan-favorite contest Michael Ketterer was arrested on the charge of domestic violence.

At the time of his arrest, reports stated that Ketterer and his wife had gotten into an altercation and, though his wife didn’t want to press charges, cops detained him because they found a red mark on her person.

Now, the L.A. City Attorney’s Office has released a statement saying they will not be filing charges against the singer but will instead hold a City Attorney hearing, a method often used for low-level crimes. He will also reportedly receive counseling and be made aware of the consequences for repeat violations.

Ketterer was set to perform with Garth Brooks next month, who had written him the song “Courage to Love” for Ketterer during his “America’s Got Talent” run. Shortly after Ketterer’s arrest, Garth made a statement explaining that he had spoken to Ketterer and they decided together that it would be best for him to not appear at Garth’s show.

Ketterer has since posted a few pictures on Instagram with his wife, saying they are “stronger,” using the hashtags #TeamKetterer and #WeAreStronger.
