It’s a sad day for “Modern Family” fans. The beloved sitcom that has stolen the hearts of viewers since 2009 is officially coming to an end after its 11th season.

Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment, broke the news at the 2019 Television Critics Association winter press tour after announcing the show’s 11th season renewal.

“[Co-creators Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan] have created one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history,” he said. “In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won’t want to miss.”

After the news spread, several actors and actresses from the show expressed their bittersweet feelings about the show closing its doors.

Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cam, took to his Instagram, saying, “It was announced today that next year(season 11) will be our last. I’m so thankful and grateful to have had this job for the last 10 years and that I get to do it for ONE MORE year with this talented group of beauties.”

Nolan Gould, who plays the youngest Dunphy, Luke, shared a similar sentiment.

“Modern Family was picked up for an 11th and final season. So happy that I get to spend one more year with this cast and crew. And grateful for the run we’ve had. What a journey it’s been. Thanks for taking it with us,” he said.
