Nancy McKeon, who played Jo Polniaczek in the 1980s sitcom “The Facts of Life,” is putting on her dancing shoes and teaming up with professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy for Season 27 of “Dancing with the Stars.”
Announced Wednesday morning on “Good Morning America,” Nancy and Val were revealed as the first couple on the new season.
“We have to say thank you to Ginger Zee for loaning me her amazing partner, Nance said. “She was so brilliant and I will try not to let her down as the followup.” Ginger, “GMA’s” meteorologist, competed on the show with Val during season 22.
You could already see the chemistry between Nancy and Val as they joked around during the interview. While the tow bantered, it was easy to see Nancy has the utmost respect for her partner.
“He is awesome. He is the most amazing partner,” she said. “More patience than anybody I know and I’m so lucky.”
The remaining cast has yet to be revealed, but the pros that will be joining the couple this season include, Jenna Johnson (Val’s fiancé), Cheryl Burke, Sharna Burgess, Emma Slater, Lindsay Arnold, Witney Carson, Sasha Farber, Gleb Savchenko, Artem Chigvintsev, Keo Motsepe, Alan Bersten and Brandon Armstrong.
Season 27 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
