When Roseanne Barr put out a racist Tweet, causing the “Roseanne” reboot to come to an end, many fans were disappointed that her actions had negative consequences for her co-stars. Now, sources say that the producers are working towards a spinoff without Roseanne Barr in tow.
According to Variety, “Roseanne’s” executive producers Tom Werner and Bruce Helford met with ABC Entertainment’s president to pitch a spinoff idea focused on Sarah Gilbert’s character, Darlene.
Sarah Gilbert recently spoke up about Roseanne Barr’s Tweets, saying she stood behind ABC’s decision to cancel the show but that she and the rest of the cast were heartbroken.
No further statements on the spinoff have been made, but a decision is said to be announced soon.
