Sara Haines, co-host of “The View” and pop news anchor for “GMA‘s” weekend editions announced today that she will be leaving “The View” for good.
Sara, who joined the show in 2016 as a permanent host, isn’t leaving because of any bad blood or problems that arose in the show, she is in fact leaving for a good reason.
I’m going to start with the bitter part. I will be leaving the show for the best reason, but I have to start with this. I have watched ‘The View’ since it began,” she said in the announcement. “This has been a dream I’ve always had to be on this show. Every day I walk out here I’ve never taken it for granted.”
She continued, “I never dreamed in a million years that I would be leaving one dream job for another dream job. I am going to be working next to Michael Strahan on the third hour of “GMA.’ But I don’t have words to express my gratitude for just sitting at this table.”
She went on to explain how grateful she is to work with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Meghan McCain.
“This has been a dream. I’m honored to sit here,” Sara said. “I am super excited for the next chapter. The only bad part is that I’m leaving you guys.”
In true Joy Behar fashion, she made a joke saying, “but think of it this way, only one person will be interrupting you.” There’s something Sara can look forward to.
Sara will join Michael Strahern on “GMA” beginning Monday, September 10 on the third hour of “GMA” and they are calling it “GMA Day.”
