Steve Irwin’s Family Lands New Animal Planet Series to Carry On His Legacy

When it comes to showing the world the beauty, dangers and incredible nature of animals and wildlife, no one did it quite like the late Steve Irwin.

Steve Irwin, also known as “The Crocodile Hunter,” passed away in 2006 after being stabbed in the heart by a stingray’s barb. At the time of his passing, he left behind his wife, Terri, and two children: Bindi Sue and Robert.

Despite Irwin’s death, his family has continued to live and breathe all things wildlife. Now, they’re getting the chance to share their love of animals and nature in an all-new Animal Planet series, “Crikey! It’s The Irwins.”

Steve’s daughter, Bindi Sue, took to Instagram to share the news of the show’s release.

“I am so happy to announce that our brand new Animal Planet series will premiere on October 28th,” she said. “We can’t wait to share our story with you as we continue Dad’s important work. This feels like a beautiful new life chapter. I hope to see you there.”

Steve’s son Robert shared the same trailer on his own Instagram page, saying, “Crikey! It’s official… our family is returning to Animal Planet on October 28. So honoured to be sharing our journey with you and showcasing all of the incredible adventures we have with our conservation work here at Australia Zoo and worldwide. I can’t wait to embark on this new chapter as we continue Dad’s legacy.”
