Wendy Williams returned to her show The Wendy Williams Show Monday morning (April 15) . It’s the first time she’s been live on television since the news broke that she filed for divorce from her husband of 21 years, Kevin Hunter.
Wendy sat in her hot topics chair, where she usually dishes about other celebrities personal lives, to share about her own life. While she didn’t address the divorce directly, Wendy did let the audience know that she was moving out of her sober house and ready to get on with her life.
“You know, it’ll be Wendy on her own. I have to tell you, you know I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son,” Wendy said not mentioning her ex.
“Believe me you, when you lay in a room with no TV and four grey walls all day and no telephone and you lay there and think about your life, this is my life at the sober house, it’s one of the best things, honestly that could have ever happened to me,” she said “Because you know when you think about your life, you think about how you’ve been delivering to the world, especially here on the show.”
She continued, “Addressing my sobriety, my addiction head on has really helped me sort out every single compartment of my life. I have a commitment to me and my son to come out of here better, stronger and faster than ever.”
Wendy then went on to let her audience know that she was ready to get back in the game. As video of a Cardi B interview played, Wendy couldn’t help but notice the tall attractive security guard standing in the background.
“I was distracted by that chocolate gum drop over Cardi’s shoulder. I’m on the loose,” she said, making the video back up so she could see him again. “I would be calling in the middle of the night, because Kevin (her son) is away at school. I would be like, ‘Hello security, Wendy security bureau, wake up that cutie and send him over here. I just heard a bump in the night.'”
Look out world, Wendy is back on the market.
