Zac Efron has gone to the dark side. Okay, not really, but he is channeling the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy for a new film, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile— and now, he’s revealing his incredible transformation.

The film, set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, will reportedly tell the story of Ted Bundy’s life through the lens of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who denied his secret life as a criminal. Efron took to Instagram to share a photo of himself from the new movie, saying he’s “Ready for Sundance!”

For reference, here’s what the actual Ted Bundy looks like:

Ted Bundy was a law student and notorious criminal in the ’70s who, after a decade of pleading not guilty, confessed to 30 homicides in seven states, though many believe that number is much higher.

Bundy was executed in Florida in 1989.

Efron stars in the movie alongside Lily Collins and John Malkovich.
