I don’t know about you, but I have a really hard time making a decision and sticking with it forever. Whether it’s the way I dress, the way I do my hair, the foods I like to eat or the way I decorate my house, my taste changes constantly.
One of my favorite things to change is my home decor. I can’t have any space in my house sit stagnant for more very long, so, I basically completely redecorate monthly.
After probably the first month or two of me redecorating, reorganizing and, ultimately, spending too much money, my husband pretty much told me I either had to stop or find a way to redecorate for free. I chose to figure out how to do it for free.
12 Ways to Make Your Home More Cozy for Only $0.00:
1. Make a Recycled Tassel Garland
By cutting up strips of old t-shirts, tights, towels, sheets, yarn, tissue paper etc., you can make a beautiful tassel garland for your home.
2. Make a reading corner.
Grab a chair, pillow and blanket you’re not utilizing from elsewhere in your house and turn a drab corner into a cozy reading corner.
3. Layer up the blankets and pillows on your bed.
You don’t need all those pillows and blankets on your couch, but you do need more on your bed.
Grab spare pillows and blankets from around your house and create a soft, cozy sleep space for yourself — fur is definitely a plus.
4. Cover nasty pillows with old sweaters or t-shirts.
Take those old t-shirts and sweaters and make your nasty pillows new again.
5. Make a photo garland for your wall.
This is a great way to showcase your favorite photos and add interest to your wall.

6. Incorporate greenery into your decor.
Go outside and pick an oversized leaf, pick some flowers on the side of the road or bring some of your potted plants indoors. This will add freshness and color to your home.
7. Use your Christmas lights in your home year-round.
String lights don’t just have to be for Christmas. Use them in your home for a little soft lighting.
8. Gather a bunch of candles and put them in one place.
There’s something about that flickering yellow light that makes a room feel super cozy.
9. Make an art wall.
Gather paintings, frames, mirrors and photos from around your house that have a similar color scheme and arrange them on a wall that is lacking personality.
10. Use lamps instead of overhead lighting.
The yellow light provides a warmer, more cozy environment.
11. Put your blankets on display.
Because what’s cozier than blankets?
12. Organize your home and get rid of clutter.
There’s nothing more peaceful and cozy than a decluttered, clean home.
