Eric Church isn’t one of those guys who half-asses anything he does. Everything he does is full of passion (see his recent “College Gameday” appearance for a great example). From his studio albums to his live shows the guy is a natural born entertainer. It’s no surprise he’s nominated (again) for CMA Entertainer of the Year this year (along with Male Vocalist of the Year). Over the course of Church’s career he’s had his ups and down, but one thing has always been true– he puts on one hell of a live performance.

6 Most Badass Eric Church Live Performances:

6. “Pledge Allegiance to the Hag” // “Austin City Limits”

In 25 years some other guy will be standing on the “Austin City Limits” stage singing this song, but substituting “Church” for “Hag.”

5. “The Outsiders” // 2013 CMA Awards

Eric does a phenomenal job here. The lights are awesome, his voice is awesome, the intensity is awesome. We love it.

4. “Drink In My Hand” // 2011 CMA Awards

This is an awesome performance, but we also love that Brad Paisley calls Eric a “little sproute.”

3. “Like Jesus Does” // ACM Awards 2013

There are several things that we love about this performance. For one, this is like one of two times that we’ve seen Eric without sunglasses on. Two, the backup singer is on point. Three, we love (think it’s kind of funny) that Eric is in black and white.

2. “Smoke A Little Smoke” // Grand Ole Opry 2013

This is fun. Also, the audience is hilarious during the performance (especially the lady at 1:55).

1. “Springsteen” // 2012 ACM Awards

Mainly, we love watching Eric play the piano while a guitar is chillin’ on his back.

And he sounds damn good.
