Eyebrows are easily the most important feature on your face. Using them to frame your face and bring attention to your eyes is a really big beauty trend right now. While a full, defined pair of eyebrows is practically a beauty requirement, they somehow seem to be forgotten. We aren’t sure why this is except that most girls have an eyebrow horror story or two making them terrified to touch them ever again. But we are here to help! Eyebrows don’t have to be scary and plucking doesn’t have to be painful. These tricks will help you get eyebrows so gorgeous, you’ll never go back to free-range brows again.
5 Eye Brow Tweezing Hacks Every Girl Should Know:
1. Tweeze after showering.
The heat naturally loosens your hair follicles while the water softens your skin. This means tweezing should not be as painful! Additionally, we always lose a few eyebrow hairs in the shower, so if you pluck beforehand, you could lose hairs where you don’t want to.
2. Make sure the points on your tweezers are meeting.
Sometimes, old tweezers lose their edge (literally!) and won’t grab the hairs you want or grab any hairs at all. This can lead to haphazard plucking creating an eyebrow disaster.
3. Pluck only in the presence of natural lighting.
Let it be known that bad bathroom lighting is the enemy of amazing brows. Shaping your eyebrows under the influence of said lighting is just begging for bad brows. Tweeze your brows in natural light and you will be able to see stray hairs you’d never notice otherwise. You’ll also have a more accurate idea of how your eyebrows are actually looking as you’re shaping them. No more post-plucking surprises. P.S. Keep a pair of spare tweezers in your car if you want really great natural lighting!
4. Tweeze with the grain of your natural growth pattern.
Going against the grain is not only more painful, you most likely will not remove the hair in its entirety. That’s going to leave an odd, black dot so pluck in the right direction.
5. Don’t get to too wrapped up in symmetry.
Your eyebrows are meant to be sisters, not twins! The moment you start trying to make them match perfectly is the moment you end up with one of those eyebrow nightmares that will scar you for life! Get them close and move on!
