Greatest Collaboration Nashville Has Ever Seen

In 2009 Keith Urban hosted the “All For the Hall” all-star concert benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. But, this wasn’t just any all-star concert. No, Urban called it “one of the greatest open-mic nights ever seen in Nashville” and I have to agree.

Since Urban was hosting the show he invited some of his opening acts to play the show with him. Opening for him the late-2000s? Taylor Swift, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean.

Throughout the evening everyone took the stage at some point and Urban and Vince Gill played guitar and sang background vocals for them. To close the show Urban invited anyone who wanted to sing to come out and sing “Lay Down Sally” with him. The result was the collaboration to end all collaborations– Urban, Gill, Swift, Lady A, Aldean, Little Big Town and Faith Hill all sang together while Hillary Scott carried her dog around the stage. It was magical.

What to watch for:

  • Hillary Scott’s dog
  • Taylor Swift really jammin’ out around the 2:50 mark
  • Little Big Town walking to a microphone together in unison
  • Vince Gill wearing a hockey jersey
  • The Vince Gill lookalike
