Halloween gets the short end of the stick when it comes to holiday miracles. Christmas miracles happen everyday in December and you might be lucky enough to see a few Thanksgiving miracles in your life, but there are rare a few, if any, holiday miracles on Halloween. But this year, I’m calling it: the miracles are going to flow like pumpkin beer. How could I know this? Because I have seen the pitch black lucky goth chicken of Indonesia.

Ayam Cemani is an extremely rare breed of chicken that is completely black. Even it’s insides are black as night.

It get’s it’s spooky color from a harmless genetic defect called fibromelanosis which effects melanin levels in the chicken as an embryo. Since the 12th century, it’s charcoal-colored meat and inky blood have been seen as rare delicacies imparting power to whomever east them while the bird’s very presence has been seen as a symbol of authority, wealth, and good luck.

Perhaps it will bring you luck today in all your Halloween endeavors.

May you get only full-size candy bars.

May you always be treated and never tricked.

May you be haunted only by happy ghosts.

May you win all the costume competitions.

May all your Halloween wishes come true.
