Carrie Underwood Will Not Be Inducted Into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame

As a person who has spent a lot of time in Oklahoma, I can say it's an okay place. (You read that right.) But, they have some pretty strict rules for induction into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

Carrie Underwood, who hails from the Checotah, where 69 meets 40, was up for induction into the 90th class into the Hall, but won't be able to attend the induction ceremony after falling at her home in Nashville. And since she can't attend, she won't be inducted.

Carrie Underwood Breaks Wrist In Fall Outside Her Home

Country star Carrie Underwood is recovering at home after taking a fall on the steps in front of her house on Friday (Nov. 10), according to the Tennessean.

The "Church Bells" singer was taken to the hospital where she was told she suffered a broken wrist with cuts and abrasions but there were no life-threatening injuries. According to the newspaper, her husband, Mike Fisher, flew back to Nashville overnight to care for his wife.

Carrie was scheduled to perform on Sunday (Nov. 12) at Country Rising, a benefit to help those affected by the Hurricanes that devastated Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands, as well as the victims of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

Due to her injuries, Carrie will no longer be able to perform.

Carrie Underwood's Angelic Performance of "Softly and Tenderly" Was Highlight of CMA Awards Show

Country music has had it's share of sadness and tragedy this past year, including the loss of country great Glen Campbell, the sudden death of Montgomery Gentry's Troy Gentry and the horrific mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival, that killed 58 country fans and injured countless others.

As sorrow loomed over the genre, country music did what it does best at the 51st Annual CMA Awards, hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, which is come together as a family and heal together.

"This has been a year marked by tragedy, impacting countless lives, including so many in our country music family. So tonight, we're going to do what families do: come together, pray together, cry together, and sing together, too," Carrie Underwood said at the opening of the show.
