Brett Eldredge grew up in Illinois in a small town where grain silos were the tallest buildings around. Eldredge’s new album, Illinois, is a tribute to his home state and his growing up in the heart of the Midwest. The album’s title track invokes the small town values Eldredge grew up with and draws upon the feeling that you can go home again, even if it is just in your heart.
But, one thing is missing– there’s absolutely no mention of Abraham Lincoln in “Illinois.” Eldredge told us why “Illinois” makes for a better song title than say, “Land of Lincoln.”
