Just a few weeks after announcing that Lady Antebellum would be “taking a break,” Charles Kelley announced a solo project during an industry-invite-only showcase. Kelley played seven new songs for the crowd, including the quietly released single, “The Driver.”

According to those in attendance, Kelley said Lady Antebellum is not breaking up.

Billboard reports that Kelley expanded on that statement, “I wouldn’t have done this without (bandmates) Hillary and Dave giving me their blessing. Lady Antebellum will always be my focus.”

Though his longtime bandmates were not in attendance, Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay did take the stage with Kelley to perform the new single.
