“We get to be put in the ground as a couple…” isn’t the most uplifting way to start an interview, but when you’re Garth Brooks it’s actually really sweet and kind of romantic.
This week in Nashville, Garth and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, were honored with stars on the Music City Walk of Fame. Trisha received the 64th star and Garth, the 65th , on the walk located directly across the street from the Country Music Hall of Fame.
They are the first couple to be inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame together.
Garth talked about how much it means to be a permanent part of Nashville while Trisha joked she would be down each week to visit her star and make sure it is still there.
Garth also was honored with the Music City Ambassador Award for the benefit concerts he held after the devastating floods of May 2010 in Nashville. The prestigious award has only been given out twice in the last 8 years.
Garth also talked about gearing up for the second leg of his world tour, saying it is going to a level he has never been to as an entertainer. His first show back after a 6-week break will be in Dallas, Texas on September 17th.
