For Kacey Musgraves there’s only one way to play a hometown show at the Mother Church of Country Music– with sparkles, sequins, LED lights and a band in full-on bright pink suits.

Kacey was playing the first of two sold-out shows at the Ryman Auditorium and while she definitely played almost all of her CMA Album of the Year-nominated, Pageant Material, she also wowed the crowd with one incredible cover of the TLC hit, “No Scrubs.” At one point during the song she exclaimed, “I know we’ve got some scrubs in Nashville.”

The real surprise of the show was Kacey’s surprise guest– Sheryl Crow. Sheryl joined Kacey on stage for a duet of, “If It Makes You Happy.” Obviously, it made the crowd very, very happy.

Rest assured, this made me happy. #sherylcrow #kaceymusgraves @annclaireclauer @mandip_32

For the encore, Kacey waltzed back to the stage in her signature light-up boots and sang, “These Boots Were Made for Walkin’.

Kacey will continue on her Kacey Musgraves Country and Western Rhinestone Revue through the fall.
