Keith Urban has a lot of empathy for the singers trying out this season for “American Idol.” During his recent No. 1 party for his hit, “Raise ‘Em Up,” Keith shared just how hard it is for hopeful contestants to come into the room and try out for the show.
Later, Keith and songwriters Jaren Johnston and Jeffrey Steele performed at the party held in Nashville.
“Raise ‘Em Up” was written by Steele, Johnston and Tom Douglas, but was never meant to be a duet. After hearing the song, Keith’s producer Nathan Chapman suggested it. Eric Church agreed to sing on it and now, the song is up for CMA Musical Event of the Year.
